2026 Scarecrow Trail

Entries are now in for the 2026 Scarecrow Trail. The theme is ‘Game On!’ and this year we encouraged scarecrow-makers to be as creative as they like, based on the theme of playing games. 

So, what does that phrase mean to you? On the trail, might you see your favourite game from childhood?  What toy, or character from a board game or computer game might our makers have brought to life in scarecrow form for the week of Saturday 24th to Sunday 31st October 2026? 

There will be a trail competition for all trail followers who have purchased a map. The winner of the trail competition will be drawn from all correct quiz entries and first prize will receive £50.00.  Visit this page again nearer the time for the link to purchase the map. 

Among the planned creations are Super Mario Bros, Monopoly, Battleships, Kerplunk, Plants vs Zombies, Cluedo, and Snakes & Ladders.   Fun scarecrows will be popping up all over the village to delight and entertain our residents and visitors during the half- term holiday.   Well over 2,000 people march around each year, making this a truly popular annual event.
