A Nation's Tribute

The following programme organised by the Parish Council in conjunction with the Royal British Legion and The Parish of St. Mary and St. John will take place on The Fairground. 

6:35 pm The reading of "Tribute to the Millions"
6:40 pm The reading of the Roll of Honour
6:50 pm The recital of "In Flanders Fields"
6:55 pm The Last Post followed by the Exhortation. We join more than 1000 individual buglers sounding this historic tribute at WW1 Beacon of Light sites across the nation and UK Overseas Territories
7:00 pm Lighting of WW1 Beacon of Light. More than 1000 beacons of Light will be lit, symbolising an end to the darkness of war and a return to the light of peace.
7:05 pm Our bells ring open,  together with more than 1000 cathedrals and churches across the nation, calling us to Thanksgiving and To Go Forward Together in Hope
