Coronation Cake Decorating Competition
MVP and Mortimer 2012 WI are excited to announce that there will be a Coronation Cake Decorating Competition, at the King’s Coronation event in Mortimer, on Saturday 06 May.
£50 Best in Show Prize
The competition will be to produce a Coronation themed decorated cake. This will be judged, by a public vote, purely on the decoration. So, don’t worry about the cake, just focus on making it look like a show stopper!
Your cake could look like a crown, maybe an image of the King, or perhaps even the Royal Carriage? Let your imagination flow…
- All cake entries need to be dropped off at the Mortimer 2012WI Competition stand on Mortimer Fairground, next to Market Row between 10:30 - 12:30 on Saturday 06 May.
- Please make sure your name and contact details are left with the cake.
- All cakes should be a maximum size of 25cm.
- The winner will be selected by a public vote and announced at 15:20pm.
After the judging your entry must be collected by 5pm. Why not eat it as part of your picnic tea?
The “Best in Show” will receive a certificate and £50 Prize, while the two runners up with receive certificates.
How Many Royals Fit on the Fairground?
Whilst the Coronation is about King Charles III, we don’t think Mortimer’s celebration can feature too many Kings, Queens, Princes and Princesses!
So, we invite anyone who wishes to dress up on the day to do so!
We want to see as many children (and any older, but young at heart kids) to come along to the event on the Fairground dressed in their finest royal costumes.
Let’s see just how many little royals can we get onto the Fairground!
We look forward to seeing quite a few Elsa’s from Frozen, a Jasmin, Rapunzal, or even a Pocahontas, along with a Prince Charming, Aladdin, Li Shang….
Frankly, we’d even welcome a Gruffalo or Batman if they are wearing a crown!
Fancy Dress Parade
There will be a parade across the stage for children (escorted by Mum or Dad, if needed) during the afternoon. Plus, every child who dresses up can collect a small prize from the side of the stage during the parade.
Who Doesn’t Love to Dress up?
Let’s get all the children involved in the day and let them be part of Mortimer Coronation Celebrations.
