Dear Parents/Carers and Children,
You are warmly invited to join a Christingle Service at St John’s church, Mortimer, at 3pm or 5pm on Christmas Eve. These services are celebrations of light, hope, joy and thanksgiving. Your donations help the Children’s Society to raise much-needed funds to support children and young people growing up in very dark or difficult circumstances.
Please fill in the slip on this letter Christingle Letter with the names and ages of all children wishing to attend one of the Christingle Services, including any who may be staying with you, and return it to school or church by Friday 13th December. You will receive a reply with an envelope for your donation. Booking enables our team to make a Christingle for every participant.
The Christingle Service includes carols, the blessing of the crib, prayers and a short address. Pre-school children collect their Christingle and return to their seats. Older children collect their Christingle, form a circle around the church and their candles are lit. Stewards will guide and supervise in church. Parents/carers are asked to remain vigilant.
