Mortimer Fun Day Back for 2025

After a seven-year hiatus, the ever-popular Mortimer Fun Day will return on Saturday 05 July.

The event will be held on Mortimer Fairground and will be hosted by Mortimer Village Partnership (MVP) and Mortimer Music Live (MML).

For those new to the village, this event has been a beloved tradition for over a decade.  During the day, entrance will be free of charge to all.  Any help you can give in running this event would be really appreciated,  follow this link:  Click to View Volunteer Opportunities on SignUp

You can expect exciting arena acts including a walkabout dinosaur and a thrilling parkour demonstration (see below) alongside local dance, singing and acrobatic groups.

Classic summer fete activities including coconut shies and welly-wanging will also be happening! Local clubs and societies will be running these activities, giving them a chance to fundraise while connecting with the wider community. And, of course, no Fun Day would be complete without a Beer Tent, offering local beers and a selection of refreshing summer drinks.

MVP Lunch Club invited to Wokefield Park

Thank you De Vere Venues, Wokefield Park and BMW for a wonderful Christmas gift for our community!

MVP Lunch Club was treated like royalty when its members were invited by De Vere Venues, Wokefield Park to a special Christmas meal in their honour. 30 elderly people were whisked from their homes by chauffeur-driven car, courtesy of the staff at BMW, to the delightful setting of Wokefield Park where they were treated to a delicious Christmas lunch. Take a look at  the delightful smiles on the faces of our lunch guests to discover how much this treat was appreciated by both the elderly and the volunteers.

Wokefield Park and ISS (the school caterers via the chef Helen Baines at St. Mary's school) support the Lunch Club throughout the year by providing delicious soup. "We would not be able to run without the generous support of these organisations" says organiser Rebecca Barker. "Wokefield Park, ISS, Budgens and St. John's School help us to bring the joy of company, good food and laughter to the members and MVP is forever grateful for their generous support."  If you know anyone who is well enough to come out to lunch but would benefit from company twice a month then please do get in touch with Cindy Kimber on cindy_kimber@hotmail.com or 9331767.  Equally if you would like to come and help out at our club and make friends with all the people that attend then please contact Rebecca Barker on bbarkerdg@sky.com or 9332008
