Silver Sunday is held at the Community Centre in Mortimer on the first Sunday in October. It is part of a national incentive (started in 2012 by The Sir Simon Milton Foundation) to provide a community-based event for the elderly.
A hot meal, entertainment and a raffle have been provided in Mortimer for the past four years for up to 60 elderly from the community.
The hot meal is donated very generously by De Veres, Wokefield and desserts by the volunteers. There is no charge for attending the event.
