On the evening of Saturday 3rd November, at the Reading Minster of St Mary the Virgin, the Lord Lieutenant of Berkshire and the Berkshire Branch of the Royal British Legion held a County Concert and Festival of Remembrance to commemorate the Centenary of the World War One Armistice.

This year MVP "gave" the Scarecrow Trail to St. Mary's School PTA. MVP is very pleased that the event was successful, a great amount of money was raised, and, as every year, Budgens played a big part in that.

As is to be expected a significantly larger than usual crowd attended the act of remembrance at the War Memorial today, Sunday 11th November 2018. With so much in the news about the 100th anniversary of the Armistice, honouring those who fought and died for our country was in everyone's thoughts.
This walk takes place every Tuesday and starts at Mortimer Community Centre car park (RG7 3RD) opposite The Horse & Groom PH. This is a faster paced walk of around 5.25 miles that last from 1 hr 45 mins to 2 Hrs. The walk is free of charge.
