Mortimer Fun Day Back for 2025

After a seven-year hiatus, the ever-popular Mortimer Fun Day will return on Saturday 05 July.

The event will be held on Mortimer Fairground and will be hosted by Mortimer Village Partnership (MVP) and Mortimer Music Live (MML).

For those new to the village, this event has been a beloved tradition for over a decade.  During the day, entrance will be free of charge to all.  Any help you can give in running this event would be really appreciated,  follow this link:  Click to View Volunteer Opportunities on SignUp

You can expect exciting arena acts including a walkabout dinosaur and a thrilling parkour demonstration (see below) alongside local dance, singing and acrobatic groups.

Classic summer fete activities including coconut shies and welly-wanging will also be happening! Local clubs and societies will be running these activities, giving them a chance to fundraise while connecting with the wider community. And, of course, no Fun Day would be complete without a Beer Tent, offering local beers and a selection of refreshing summer drinks.

Mortimer Lunch Club Parties at Wokefield Park!

‘It's something I will remember for the rest of my life' was one lady's reaction to the wonderful Christmas spread put on for Mortimer Village Partnership's Lunch Club by DeVere Venues (Wokefield Park) and BMW.

DeVere Venues invited 30 people from MVP Lunch Club along for a Christmas meal not to be forgotten. First they were collected from their homes in a fleet of gorgeous cars provided by BMW and whisked over to Wokefield Park to be greeted by a red carpet and the welcoming smiles of the staff. As one guest said ‘It's not often that old folk are treated so special. We all felt like royalty!'

Rebecca Barker and Cindy Kimber who organise the Lunch Club on behalf of MVP were thrilled and delighted with the generous offer from both Wokefield Park and BMW. ‘These ladies and gentlemen who come to the Lunch Club ARE special and it is lovely to be able to give them their special day' said Rebecca Barker, ‘We are so incredibly grateful to all our sponsors who make our Lunch Club possible. Without the support of DeVere Venues and Dolce (the school caterers) there would be no soup every fortnight for our club. Our local village supermarket, Budgens, also supports us tremendously as does St John's Infant school. Our Lunch Club really is a community venture; it shows just what a community can do when it sets its mind to something'. See more lunch club photos...
