Mortimer Fun Day Back for 2025

After a seven-year hiatus, the ever-popular Mortimer Fun Day will return on Saturday 05 July.

The event will be held on Mortimer Fairground and will be hosted by Mortimer Village Partnership (MVP) and Mortimer Music Live (MML).

For those new to the village, this event has been a beloved tradition for over a decade.  During the day, entrance will be free of charge to all.  Any help you can give in running this event would be really appreciated,  follow this link:  Click to View Volunteer Opportunities on SignUp

You can expect exciting arena acts including a walkabout dinosaur and a thrilling parkour demonstration (see below) alongside local dance, singing and acrobatic groups.

Classic summer fete activities including coconut shies and welly-wanging will also be happening! Local clubs and societies will be running these activities, giving them a chance to fundraise while connecting with the wider community. And, of course, no Fun Day would be complete without a Beer Tent, offering local beers and a selection of refreshing summer drinks.

Mortimer Fun Day 2010

Everyone will agree that Mortimer Fun Day 2010 was absolutely fantastic!! The sun shone, about 5000 people came and had a great time.

MVP would like to thank everyone involved: organisers, volunteers, sponsors and attendees - together we made a sunny day really shine in Mortimer.

The children's fancy dress parade got thing off to a colourful start, while the Willink CheerVision cheerleaders kept up the momentum with their skillful display. The hawk display was very popular at all times with a big crowd around the arena both times that Ray Prior flew his birds. It was most photogenic as you can see from the shot above and many more in the photogallery. The tug of war proved a real draw (!) with all sorts teams of varying size and number - I'm not sure who the winners were but the Yummy Mummies got the biggest cheer! The display of junior rugby skills by Tadley Rugby club was further enhanced by the antics of Digger the Dog. Everyone enjoyed the skillful tent erecting competition and the fireman showing how they rescue people by cutting them out of cars, while the AK Gymnastics team delighted all with their strength and agility.

One of the wonderful PA announcers, Graham Jones, has even written a blog entry about the Fun Day which everyone should read.
