Mortimer Fun Day Back for 2025

After a seven-year hiatus, the ever-popular Mortimer Fun Day will return on Saturday 05 July.

The event will be held on Mortimer Fairground and will be hosted by Mortimer Village Partnership (MVP) and Mortimer Music Live (MML).

For those new to the village, this event has been a beloved tradition for over a decade.  During the day, entrance will be free of charge to all.  Any help you can give in running this event would be really appreciated,  follow this link:  Click to View Volunteer Opportunities on SignUp

You can expect exciting arena acts including a walkabout dinosaur and a thrilling parkour demonstration (see below) alongside local dance, singing and acrobatic groups.

Classic summer fete activities including coconut shies and welly-wanging will also be happening! Local clubs and societies will be running these activities, giving them a chance to fundraise while connecting with the wider community. And, of course, no Fun Day would be complete without a Beer Tent, offering local beers and a selection of refreshing summer drinks.

What Else Does MVP Do?

The launch of our new website seems a good time to remind everyone of some of MVP’s other activities.

All the groups that are affiliated to MVP are entitled to borrow our equipment. The list of items MVP now owns is quite extensive, driven by the events MVP organises. In total over the year we have lent (as well as using them ourselves):

32 folding tables
426 folding chairs
27 gazebos
4 large tents
46 dustbins
bunting 3 times
330 fencing pins
64 2-way radios
36 hi viz jackets
as well as flipcharts, displayboards, money collecting cans, litter pickers and sundry other items

MVP is always keen to support the formation of more clubs and groups in the village. Therefore if a few people have an idea for a new village organisation, for example a chess club or a bulk-food buying group, MVP would like to offer help to get you started. This can take the form of paying for the hire of a room for up to two meetings, helping with publicity and other organisational advice. Once your group is established you may wish to become an MVP Affiliated organisation which will provide various types of continuing support.
