Mortimer Fun Day Back for 2025

After a seven-year hiatus, the ever-popular Mortimer Fun Day will return on Saturday 05 July.

The event will be held on Mortimer Fairground and will be hosted by Mortimer Village Partnership (MVP) and Mortimer Music Live (MML).

For those new to the village, this event has been a beloved tradition for over a decade.  During the day, entrance will be free of charge to all.  Any help you can give in running this event would be really appreciated,  follow this link:  Click to View Volunteer Opportunities on SignUp

You can expect exciting arena acts including a walkabout dinosaur and a thrilling parkour demonstration (see below) alongside local dance, singing and acrobatic groups.

Classic summer fete activities including coconut shies and welly-wanging will also be happening! Local clubs and societies will be running these activities, giving them a chance to fundraise while connecting with the wider community. And, of course, no Fun Day would be complete without a Beer Tent, offering local beers and a selection of refreshing summer drinks.

Carols at the Royal Albert Hall 2017

Another very popular trip for the people of this community is the Christmas trip to the Royal Albert Hall to enjoy the beautiful sounds of Christmas. This year it was Raymond Gubbay's Christmas Classics  - a traditional concert of seasonal classics and glorious Christmas carols performed by the celebrated Royal Choral Society accompanied by the resplendent Fanfare Trumpeters of the Coldstream Guards. 57 people travelled in comfort with Stewarts Coaches on Wednesday 15th December to sing their hearts out at the trip organised by Rebecca for the MVP Theatre Group. Tony Robinson (seen here) read A Night Before Christmas  We always have amazing seats - you can virtually read the sheet music over the shoulders of the orchestra! It's such a popular trip that there is always a waiting list to attend. Watch out in June/July for 2018 trip details. Or join the mailing list to get advance notice. Bbarkerdg11@gmail.com.
