Provides a door-to- door service to anyone who is unable to get to their medical appointments by other means. It serves the parishes of Burghfield, Mortimer West End, Stratfield Mortimer, Silchester, Sulhamstead, Ufton Nervet, Pamber Heath, Aldermaston, Padworth, Stratfield Saye, Beech Hill, Wokefield, Grazeley. Volunteers use their own cars to take people in need (many of them elderly and infirm) to and from local hospitals, surgeries, dentists, opticians etc. we also go to all Oxford hospitals, Great Western Swindon, Southampton General, Frimley Park, Townlands Henley. In addition, the Bureau organises transport to local day centres for some elderly residents. Passengers are encouraged to make a contribution towards the cost of the service.
If you or anyone you know needs such a service, phone the office on 0118 983 1814 between 9:30 and 11:30 Monday to Friday. A driver will then phone you to confirm all details including collection time. If you would like to volunteer as a driver, please contact bureauorgansier@gmail.com
