It may come as a surprise to many of you that the community centre on The Fairground is entirely run by a group of volunteers, and has been from the day that grants were first raised to build it almost 20 years ago.
The hall is now even busier than ever, with dance classes, Little Oaks, martial arts, Tai Chi, yoga, cricket, the Lunch Club and the WI, all meeting there. A recent audit of the hall and its activities by Connecting Communities in Berkshire (CCB) praised the facility for the wide range of ages and different activities that regularly used the hall. That said, there are a few slots remaining available, but most evenings will see something happening there. A lot of our users do take the school holidays off, so if you are looking for a venue to cater for any activity out of school term, we might just have the place for you.
