Public Forum - Roads and Footpaths

The Parish Council invites everyone to take part in a public forum to look at the council's role in roads and footpaths around the village and the recorded rights of way and the plan to register new footpaths

Mortimer Commemorates 100 Years Since the End of WW1

Sunday 11th November is a nationwide Day of Commemorative Events marking the Centenary of the end of the First World War. Stratfield Mortimer Parish Council, in conjunction with The Royal British Legion and The Parish of St Mary and St John, Stratfield Mortimer, is taking part in this nationwide tribute as one of the 1000 plus locations.

MVP Committee Meeting

The following programme organised by the Parish Council in conjunction with the Royal British Legion and The Parish of St. Mary and St. John will take place on The Fairground. 

Act of Remembrance

Act of Remembrance at the village War Memorial & Service to the memory of the fallen (Continues at St John's church)

Thanksgiving Service

A short service to say Thank You to the First World War generation who served, sacrificed and changed our world.

Remembrance Day Requiem

Requiem for parishioners who gave their lives in the Wars. The Bells ring half-muffled in Honoured Remembrance

Remembrance Day - Vigil Service

The lighting of candles for each person from the parish who gave their life in WW1. The candles will burn for 9 days and the church will be open for remembrance and reflection through daylight hours. 

Mortimer Film Club - Finding your feet

The Mortimer Film Club meets on the third Wednesday of every month from September to June in the community Centre on Mortimer Fairground. There is ample parking and some of us adjourn to the Horse and Groom afterwards to discuss the film in a lighthearted way. Annual membership is £40 and guests pay £5 per visit.
