Friends of Mortimer Library

A group of local residents have worked together to form the Friends of Mortimer Library (FoML).

We aim to promote our library, to encourage use by local people and groups. It’s a wonderful facility in the centre of the village which we should all be proud of. It’s a place where local people of all ages can come together to enjoy themselves, meet new people and learn. We are an independently constituted body who will work closely with West Berkshire Library Service and the Parish Council, but we want you to come on board with us.

We look forward to hosting a variety of events.

If you would like to help, offer your support or have any ideas and suggestions of setting up interest groups for adults or children, or events involving local speakers, please get in touch by email.

Greening Mortimer

Greening Mortimer is our local community group formed as a result of the nationwide Greening Campaign (see https://greening-campaign.org ). The primary focus of the Greening Campaign is helping us, as individuals and a Community, to reduce our daily carbon footprint by making small and simple changes to the way we live; and to move forward with Community Projects through which we work together to protect our local environment, retrofit our homes, and support human health. From this we will have the building blocks for a sustainable community.

Mountain Music

Award winning Little Bulb are coming back to Mortimer on 30th September with Mountain Music! A theatrical feast of tales and songs, featuring sumptuous three-part harmonies and a foot-stomping five-piece string band, storytelling, an interval and second act gig.

Doors and bar open at 7pm for a 7:30 start.
