Time Changes

Lots of people are struggling to find time to work from home, keep children amused and educated and care for elderly relatives at a distance. I’m in my mid-sixties and no longer have a job, children at home or elderly relatives. My time is usually dominated by looking after grandchildren and various local activities. None of that is now happening. Which leaves me with perhaps too much time to think!

Of course there is plenty to do in the garden and a million and one projects that I can do at home; it’s not that I am bored. But there is no necessity to do them quickly and efficiently as I have so much more time available than usual. I find myself wondering will I ever be able to do things quickly again? With nothing on the calendar – no arriving grandchildren, meetings or weekly events – what drives time forward?
