Midsummer Music in aid of Save the Children
Save the Children Kennet Branch are delighted to be able to welcome you to our music and entertainment event on Sunday 26th June starting at noon. The location is Little Manor, Church Lane, Burghfield Village, RG30 3TG
Our headliners The Clive Fortune Big Band will be entertaining us a wide repertoire of big band classics and jazz standards including originals from the 1930s, 1940s and 1950s as well as more contemporary arrangements for big band. Interval support will be provided by singer songwriter Liza Marshall and the always entertaining Shane and Alex.

Scouting and the Platinum Jubilee Parade
We all saw that the parade was led with great enthusiasm by Scouts, Cubs, Beavers, Guides and Brownies. The participants were not only from Mortimer but also from Burghfield, Sulhampstead and Ufton Nervet. Neil Johnson, who organised this part of the parade, has pointed out that this was the first time since the 1968 St George’s parade in Theale that these groups had paraded together. Due to
Mortimer celebrates the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee
A weekend jubilee party organised by the Parish Council (with assistance from many people and organisations within the village and beyond) proved a tremendous success. The event started on the evening of Thursday 2nd June with the lighting of the beacon, followed by a burlesque show entitled Moulin Mortimer on Friday evening.
Annual Parish Meeting - Community Awards
The 2022 Annual Parish Meeting was held at St Johns Hall on the 26th April and as usual the community award was presented. Because there was no meeting last year TWO awards were presented as follows:
