Scarecrow Trail - Results

A good number of people gathered today, Sunday 3rd November, to hear the results of the Scarecrow Trail. About 800 trail maps were sold and all week people were tramping round the village to see the 35 scarecrows even though the weather wasn't brilliant. Every scarecrow received some votes but these were the top 5 in each category:

Julie Spratley presented the prizes (two of which were sponsored by Spratley's) to the Greatrex family, the Munn family and the Wallers. Congratulations to all contestants; the standard was very high! The winner of the trail competition was Marnie Eccles; there were 21 scarecrows where Simon told us what to do!

Thanks to all those who made scarecrows, walked or cycled round, sponsored prizes, took photos or helped in so many ways.

Proceeds from Mortimer Fun Day 2013 were presented at the same event: £1000 to Thrive towards a Fun Garden project for young people and £1000 to Burghfield & Mortimer First Responders for support of Entonox equipment.
