Mortimer Scouts go Pioneering

Over the October half term 1st Mortimer Scouts camped locally in Benyons Enclosure. Thanks must go to Richard Edwards from Englefield Estate for his kind permission for us to do so. The theme was pioneering with the main aim being to build a log cabin. Our Scouts really enjoy camping out in hammocks, so these were duly hung up and covers put over to keep out the torrential rain ! Coupled with some fantastic open-fire cooking including full Sunday Roast and some delicious fresh baked bread rolls, the camp was a great success This was the 28th year running that we have camped in October both here in the UK and abroad in the French Alps.  There are some pictures to give a flavour of the camp. If you are looking for some fun come and join us. Neil Johnson Group Scoutmaster
