The 1st Mortimer Scout Group was founded here in the village of Mortimer in 1910 making the group one of the oldest in the country. We provide traditional scouting with a modern approach for boys and girls from Year 1 upwards with the emphasis on fun for all in a safe environment.
Beavers are for Years 1 and 2 and meet on Mondays from 5:30 to 6:45 pm
Cubs are for Years 3 to 6 and meet on Tuesdays from 7 to 8:15 pm
Scouts are for Year 7 upwards and meet on Mondays from 7:30 to 9:30 pm

West Berkshire Council sponsor health walks in Mortimer . We meet every Tuesday in the car park opposite the Horse & Groom pub. There are 3 walks:
9:45 Long walk of about 5 miles approx 1hr 45 min
10:00 Regular walk about 3.5 miles approx 1.5 hrs
10:30 Short gentle walk of about 1.5 mile approx 1 hr. This is for those wanting to start walking or returning after illness or injury

Music with Mummy and Jolly Babies provide a fun approach to music where we sing traditional nursery rhymes as well as some songs specific to the class. The Jolly Babies class provides a great way to bond with your baby and meet new mums, while Music with Mummy helps teach basic aspects of music.
Classes are held:
- in Burghfield Common on Mondays at 9.30am (MwM)and at 11am (JB)
- in Mortimer West End on Wednesdays at 9.30am (MwM), 10.15 (JB) and 11am (MwM)
