Bag2school operate throughout the UK; collecting and selling your unwanted textiles to importers and wholesalers in many countries of Eastern and Western Europe, Africa and Asia to benefit the schools Mortimer St John’s, Mortimer St Mary’s and Willink. Bag2school has been working in partnership with volunteers in Mortimer since May 2009 and has raised over £16,000 for our local schools.
Three times a year volunteers deliver bags to most of Mortimer to enable householders to have a clothing clearout. Clothing needs to be ‘good quality’ for RE-USE
We CAN recycle: Men’s, Ladies’ and Children’s clothing, Paired shoes (tied together or elastic band around), Handbags, Hats, Bags, Scarves and ties, Jewellery Lingerie, Socks, Belts, Soft toys, Household linen, Curtains
Towels, Bedding (bed sheets, pillow cases and duvet covers)
We CANNOT recycle: Duvets and blankets, Pillows and cushions, Carpets, rugs and mats (including bath, shower and toilet mats), Soiled, painted, ripped or wet clothing, School uniforms with and without logo, Corporate clothing and workwear, Textile off cuts, yarns or threaded material
We are always looking out for volunteers to help distribute some of the bags and also to collect them when full. If you are interested in learning more please contact Peta Clark.

Our Sunday service starts at 11.00am, to which all are welcome. We are very family friendly and after the service we chat over coffee and tea. On the first Sunday in the month we share a family Communion. Children and young people also have their own separate groups during the morning.
Time4U is an oasis for parents/carers (with or without your children) to come and enjoy each other’s company over coffee and cake, to walk, talk, to enjoy some pampering or be creative. Every Thursday(during term time) between 9.45 and 11.45 in the Schoolroom. Contact Ann, Grace or Trish at Time4U@thechapel.org.uk
Our regular Sunday Worship Service takes place in the Methodist Church at 10:30 am each week, usually for around an hour. We offer Junior church for younger members once a month, and also a crèche corner in the church for our family services, including all age worship.
Weekly church services are also posted on Facebook @Mortimer Methodist Church. We welcome friends, both old and new, to join us week by week, or to just come and visit and see what we’re like!
