MVP AGM March 12th 2016

MVP Chairman announces in Chairman’s report the plan to install and fund a Defibrillator  - to be centrally located in the village, in conjunction with the SMPC and the First Responders. Doug Overett the MVP Chair said this was a natural development following the Heartstart courses held over the last 4 years by the MVP and support for the First Responders. In addition, a donation to the Mortimer Bell Ringers to help get the bells ringing again and to a Parish council project to install a power supply to the Fairground, were cited as the happy result of prudent budgeting from MVP events over the past couple of years which has built a small funding surplus.

A whole range of MVP activities in the village were listed…. from the Lunch Club, Xmas Panto and Scarecrow Trail to Visiting Theatre and of course the Fun day.  The enormous success of these events were clear evidence that the MVP fully delivered against its strap line “Enriching Village Life”.Doug thanked the excellent work of the Committee for their energy and generosity of time and spirit and stressed that the workload fell on very few shoulders and it is extremely important to attract new people to help.
