Mortimer Lunch Club Christmas Party
The first Christmas party of the year was held for the members of the MVP lunch club today,- 6th December. Our lunch guests were delighted to be entertained as they arrived by the lovely choir of Mortimer St John's School with a selection of Christmas carols. Thereafter followed our Christmas feast. With musical entertainment throughout the event provided by Brian Bicknell, everyone was very much in the Christmas spirit.
Very many grateful thanks are due to many people:
- The members of Facebook Group Buy Nothing Mortimer who provided surprise Christmas gifts for all the attendees
- DJ Travel who offered the use of their mini-coach to pick up our lunch guests for the event
- Budgens to whom the organisers send an extra-big thank you for their continuing support for our lunch club
- All the volunteers who help out throughout the year to provide a twice-monthly social event for the older people of our community.
As if this wasn’t enough MVP Lunch Club has been invited to Christmas lunch at Wokefield Park next week. They will be driven down to the party by the staff of BMW who kindly use their beautiful cars to make the lunch guests feel even more special.
