Campaign Against Development on West End Farm

The village came together in an amazing way to object to the proposal from Basingstoke & Deane District to include the building of 350 houses on West End Farm in the Regulation 18 of their latest Local Plan. The houses are proposed on the fields nearest to the district border and the Local Plan further proposes that the new residents would make use of all the facilities and infrastructure of Stratfield Mortimer and West Berkshire District although in Hampshire and not contributing CIL or Council Tax towards them. 
After several public meeting and a lively social media campaign, 1231 people submitted their comments to Basingstoke & Deane. The next step is for a Regulation 19 - the village awaits to see if we have been listened to.
