Full House! The Theatre Comes to Mortimer

Little Bulb Theatre company played to a full house in St. John's Hall last night (21st March). Everyone laughed almost non-stop as, with amazing energy, the cast sang, danced and proclaimed their way through the hilarious tale of the strife between two villages and how it was resolved.

MVP AGM 2012

The AGM of Mortimer Village Partnership took place in St. John's Hall on Saturday 17th March. The audited annual accounts and a range of interesting facts about MVP, its activities and some of its affiliated organisations were on display.

Advent 2011

In the afternoon on Saturday 17th December the Community Centre was buzzing with lots of young creative children all making decorations for their Christmas Trees. This tooks lots of concentration as you can see....! 

Mortimer Lunch Club Parties at Wokefield Park!

‘It's something I will remember for the rest of my life' was one lady's reaction to the wonderful Christmas spread put on for Mortimer Village Partnership's Lunch Club by DeVere Venues (Wokefield Park) and BMW.

Mortimer Chocolate Crowned Winners - Dec 10th 2011!

West African Chocolate from our very own chocolate company, Mortimer Chocolate Company, is the winner of the national Britain's Best Drinking Chocolate Award for 2011!

Mortimer Remembers

During the 11th, 12th and 13th November the people of Mortimer participated in several different memorial ceremonies.

On Friday 11th about 35 adults met quietly at the War Memorial for the two minutes' silence. The President of the local Royal British Legion, Air Vice Marshall Barry Newton spoke the famous exultation:

Scarecrow Trail 2011

This year's scarecrow trail (between 22nd and 30th October) was an even more resounding success than the first one last year. Forty scarecrows decorated the village and hordes of people enjoyed walking and cycling round to see them all.

Mortimer Fun Day

The third Mortimer Fun Day on July 2nd was yet again a resounding success. In its new location on the back field on the Fairground it attracted over 5000 people. Just about every local organisation was represented by a stall or by providing an event. Attractions from previous years such as the 4-in-1 bungee trampoline were augmented by Zorb balls.

Mortimer Spring Clean

On Saturday 2nd of April the Horse and Groom garden was the venue for setting off on Mortimer's second annual village spring clean. The weather was kind and come the afternoon the sun was almost shining. The turn out was up on last year and over 50 volunteers were kitted out with gloves, jackets, bags and litter pickers, all provided by West Berkshire Council.
