All Change at Mortimer Post Office

After nearly 25 years at Mortimer Common Post Office, Val Pickett (formerly Drake) is retiring as Postmistress on 7th November. She and her late husband Laurie ran the business for 20 years before he sadly died and she has run it ever since. She says "I should like to thank all my customers and staff for their loyalty and support all this time. Debbie Ward, my chief clerk, is also retiring after 10 years. Rachel Loubser, who has been counter clerk for 6 years, is taking over as Postmistress. I wish her good luck and hope the village will continue to support the Post Office."

Mortimer Village Partnership speaks for the whole village in thanking her for all the benefits having a post office have meant to the village and for her support of the community in so many ways. May she have a long and happy retirement!
